We are going to do a few assignments using Google Docs. I know many of you have used Google docs for other classes, so this might be some review, but I wanted to make sure we understood some basic formatting that you can use in Google docs such as working with columns and tables and inserting pictures. Remember- Google Docs is like Microsoft Word. Both are types of Word Processors.
There are two assignments using Google Docs and two assignments using Google Sheets. Google sheets is a type of spreadsheet software that is similar to microsoft ________. You may end up using Google in the future more than Microsoft so I just wanted to do a few assignments to make sure we understand how to do these. Your job is to take the printed copy and create your own with the instructions given.
Assignment #1- Bears of Packers article (you choose)
The title should be a an 18 point bold Ultra font. Make sure this is centered. The rest of the article should be typed out and then put into a column format. You will need to look under the "Format" tab to find the option for columns. The option to add the line is under "More options" once you click on the column option. The rest of the paper should be a 10.5 Arial font. Make sure to add an appropriate picture at the end.
Assignment #2- Recent NFL Hall of Famers
You will use google Docs again for this assignment. You will need to create a 4x20 table for this (4 columns & 20 rows). the Table option is under "Insert." Make sure the two middle columns have a center alignment. The other two (Name & Position) can be left at left alignment. The list down below is simply a bulleted list. You may use any font style.
Assignment #3- NFL Team Stats
You are going to use Google Sheets to do this assignment. Google Sheets is very similar to Excel. Ask if you need help getting into it, but remember that this is an online-based program. There are directions listed on the sheet this time, but you are basically filling out the blank columns and make the formatting changes that are listed.
Assignment #4- Best Selling Digital Songs of All-time
This will be done in Google Sheets as well. You will need to use 4 columns. make sure numbers are centered. Make a column chart showing these top songs. It's similar to using Excel, but if you are having trouble- use the computer as a resource. Google "how to make a column chart in Google Sheets." There will be lots of websites and youtube videos that will help explain this. Turn this in through email or printing (make sure name is on it).
