Bucket List Project
You are going to think about places you would like to go for your with this project. According to dictionary.com, a bucket list is "a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime." A bucket list could mean a number of different types of experiences, but we are sticking with destinations you would like to visit. You will have a budget of $15,000 to do this. This seems like a lot, but when you travel the world- money will go fast. You will need to think of a total of five destinations. Three of these places must be outside of the United States.
You need to think about what you are actually going to visit when you are there- not just say you are going to a particular place. For example, if you were going to visit the Coliseum in Rome, you will need to look up a guided tour that will do this. You should not just say that you would like to visit Rome. The first think you will need to do is think of five places that you want to go to and what in particular you will do there. There is an assignment sheet to fill out in Google Classroom for this.

Here are the steps to Complete this Project:
1. Set up your Budget
Use the document listed below to help you get your spreadsheet set up. It does a good job going step-by-step in detail. You will need to start at Page #4 and go through Page #26. You do not need to fill it out at this point yet. I will want you to add a "# of Days" column at the end when finished as well (between "Stop" and "Expense"). Look at the example as a reference.

2. Fill out the Budget
You will need to think about the places you want to go and the things you want to do at those places and get a dollar amount for everything. First of all, your traveling (flying) expenses are going to take up a majority of your budget. You don't need an exact amount for an actual flight. When you do a search for cost flight- try to split the difference between the high and low low cost that you see. You will also need to think about traveling to and from the different things you are doing. I had to account for several bus trips in the example.
Your food and lodging will be other expenses to think about, but to make things easier, we will say that a night of lodging will be $100 and then you will budget $50 for food everyday. Some excursions may include food or travel. You can certainly take this into consideration and not have to worry about food or lodging for that day. For example, I did an Australian outback camping trip that included my lodging for five days. I didn't need to account for $100 a day on that trip.
Here are some notes to sum up:
1. Think about your travel plans and where to start (probably a nearby airport)
2. Look up flights and find an amount somewhere in the middle of the amounts you are finding
3. Lodging is $100 a night
4. Food is $50 per day
5. You will stay at least 2 nights at each place
6. Make sure you account for your traveling while at your destination
3. Map (Google My Maps)
You will need to go to Google "My Maps" for this. "My Maps" is different from just Google Maps. You will need to mark the places you are going to and draw lines in between your major destinations. Most of the time you will need to fly into an airport. Use the lines to draw your flight patterns. In other words, the lines represent the movement in between the five major destinations. You can just use a marker for the different places you will go once you are there. Look at the example below for this. The blue lines represent the flights to the different major cities. The blue markers represent the airports I am flying to and from. The red markers then represent the different activities I plan to do.

Here is what you need to have on your map:
1. Lines representing the travel to the major stops
2. Markers showing where you are traveling to
3. Markers showing the activity you are doing
4. A link to the tour or place you are visiting
5. A picture representing the place you are visiting
6. A list showing everything you are doing in order
4. Google Slides Show
The last step is to make a quick presentation that will incorporate your map and budget and then also talk about the five places on your bucket list. Below is what you should have on the slides. You can have more than the nine slides listed if you have more you want to put in the slideshow.
EXAMPLE
Slide #1: Title slide
Slide #2: Map screenshot & link to map on Google My maps
Slides #3 - 7: Talk about the places you will go- have at least one picture
Slide #8: Budget screenshot & link to budget
Slide #9: Ending slide
